The Midnight Surprise

Last night my friend came over around 12:30am so I could bleach and dye her hair, ironically the hair dye was called “After Midnight” Which was a really dark shade of blue #Latenight #Bluehair.

At this time, I heard my dogs barking and going insane. This is around the time my cat usually meows to come inside, so I told my 12-year-old brother to let the cat in.  #Meowmeow

My younger brother closed the door quickly with a shocked expression on his face I asked “Where’s Todd (the cat)?” He said “I don’t know but there is a guy outside.” My brothers have this habit of pulling pranks on me, so naturally I did not believe him, my 20-year-old brother is always telling me that people are outside when there is no one out there.  #Prankster

I called my little brother a liar, but he swore that there was a man outside. My friend didn’t believe him either but she checked outside just in case as she opened the door a man approached the stairs #Strangerdanger #Whodis

We had no idea who this guy was, my friend did all the talking because I was too scared to do it. He was asking for a ride, a phone charger, or for someone to help him with his car. The only ones who were up were two 23-year-old girls and a 12-year-old boy so we didn’t feel comfortable letting him inside to use a charger or make a call. #Awkward

While my friend was talking to the strange man, many thoughts were going through my head. Thoughts such as what should I do should I get my dad should I get a knife, should I call the cops #Paranoia #WhatshouldIdo

I ended up waking my dad up and telling him there was a man that we didn’t know at the door. My dad asked what he wanted and he said his car broke down and he was asking for help. So my dad got up to go see what all the ruckus was about. He went outside to talk to the strange man and came back inside five minutes later for his keys. We asked what happened, he said the guy was just drunk and needed a ride. #Dadtotherescue #Daddyshome #Daduber

My dad was off to give the man a ride. My brother and friend and I said we would give them a time limit of fifteen minutes than we would call the cops. What was going through my mind was that he could be taking my dad to something dangerous, he could turn on my dad. We just weren’t trusting of anybody knocking on our door at this time at night. We are wondering why he did not go to anybody else’s house, why he was so trusting of strangers, and lastly if he actually drunk. The reason my dad gave him a ride was because he said he had felt bad for him because he was a young guy, he didn’t want to call the cops and get him arrested. #Generous #overthinking

My dad ended up getting home safe and sound fairly quickly. We locked the door and went to bed, as I laid in bed with my lights on I couldn’t sleep. Every time I heard a footstep or heard my dogs bark I thought somebody was coming. #nosleep #noonewasthere

Once the morning came I realized that I was being a little dramatic. However, I had been watching cannibal and serial killer documentaries lately so my imagination went wild. Still, it could have had been a dangerous situation, so I don’t want my dad giving strangers rides anymore. Maybe I just worry too much. #worrywart #THEend #callmecrazy #documentaries

  1. Oh, tell me about it! I once got myself so paranoid after seeing a serial killer movie, I was convinced my roommate was dead in his closest and the killer had me in his marks next. That was the day I decided not to have a loaded gun in my dresser drawer anymore. #paranoia #gunsense
